Who am I?

My name is Scott Henderson. I live in Lenox Massachusetts with my wife Elisa and our two beautiful daughters - Matilde and Arianna. In 2004 - 2008, I was fortunate to be able to live in the Le Marche region of Italy and it was during these years that I began to really enjoy watercolor painting. Painting offered a way to slow down and enjoy the new surroundings I found myself in.
Many of the experiences were documented on the blog - Drawing on Experience, A Sketchbook of Life in Le Marche. Through painting, I was able to see things more clearly and remember them with more detail. As I began to appreciate and refine my style - a combination of detailed architectural sketch drawing and vibrant watercolors - I began to appreciate the fine papers that soaked in the artwork I created.
Can I buy the watercolors here?
Certainly - you can purchase the items you see on this site through PayPal, check, or money order.
Do you do custom paintings?
One of the most enjoyable aspects of what I do is custom work for people who’ve been to a certain part of the world that they would like to remember forever. You can even upload a picture for me which is helpful in order to determine pricing. Also let me know how large you’d like it to be. Contact me through the Request Quote form for more information.
What is 300 pound watercolor?
I am using this name as my home site, and soon an Etsy store, to sell my collection of watercolors I’ve done from places like Italy, Maine, London, and the Berkshires region of Western Massachusetts. 300 pound watercolor is a reference to the weight of paper. A light paper typically has a weight of about 90 lb, while the good stuff - the heavyweight paper - is usually be 300 pounds or greater.
